Two out of every three visitors at the last R+T Türkiye came from outside Turkey — 6,042 professionals from 92 countries, against 150 exhibitors. That ratio is unusual, and it changes the brief: this is not a stand that needs to be found in a crowd, it is a stand that needs to hold a buyer from Romania, Lebanon or Brazil long enough to open a distribution conversation.
R+T Türkiye 2027 runs 16–18 September 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center (İFM), Yeşilköy. This page is written for exhibitors looking for an R+T Türkiye stand builder: full-size shading and door systems on a stand, the German Pavilion question, approval, customs, and prices.

The international share nearly doubled between 2023 and 2025. Practically, that means your stand graphics, product labels and price file need English, and depending on your market a second language — Russian and Arabic are the usual additions for this fair. It also means a seated area is not optional: a distribution conversation is not held standing up.
One scheduling warning. R+T Türkiye has no fixed slot: past editions have run in March, September, October and November, and there were editions in both 2022 and 2023. Do not plan a future edition from the pattern — take the date from the organiser each cycle.
Products that only work full size
Almost everything at this fair is judged by being opened, closed, extended or walked under. A pergola photographed is a picture; a pergola erected is a product. That is the single biggest driver of what the stand has to be:

The constraint that catches people is projection. An awning or a gate that swings has an operating envelope, and that envelope has to sit inside your stand boundary — nothing may overhang into the aisle. A three-metre projection awning therefore needs three metres of your own floor in front of it, which is floor you are paying for. Tell us the projection at briefing and we will plan the elevation around it rather than discovering the problem in the hall.
If you intend to operate a door, shutter or awning for visitors, say so early. A moving product on a stand needs a defined envelope, a controlled operating position, and in most cases a separate circuit. Whether repeated operation is permitted is a question for the exhibitor manual, and we will put it to the organiser with your product details if you want it settled before design.
The German Pavilion: present, then not
Germany ran an official, state-supported pavilion at this fair in 2022 and again in 2023, where it occupied a stand in Hall 10 with around ten German shutter, drive and awning companies and the federal ministry’s own information booth. For the 2025 edition the pavilion was entered in the federal programme and then cancelled. Nothing has been announced for 2027.
If you are a German company planning around a pavilion place, that is worth knowing early — the fallback is an independent stand, and an independent stand needs a longer lead time than a pavilion unit. We build either, and we can start a design that works both ways until the programme is published.
No other country runs a labelled pavilion here. Chinese exhibitors are numerous — around three dozen at the 2023 edition — but take individual stands across the halls rather than a national block.
Approval and the venue’s limits
Raw space in Turkey comes with an obligation most first-time exhibitors underestimate: you name your constructor to the organiser, and nothing gets built until the drawings come back approved. How much warning you get varies — Automechanika Istanbul, which does publish its terms, asks for drawings a full two months out and says flatly that an unapproved design cannot be erected in the fairground. R+T’s own deadline arrives with the exhibitor manual, so ask for it the week your space is confirmed and work back from whatever it says.
Separately, the building imposes its own ceiling on everyone in it. Istanbul Expo Center allows 5.8 m inside the halls, rates the floor at 2,250 kg/m², and demands a structural check from 4 m upward and on every two-storey stand. That 4 m line is unusually easy to cross at this particular fair — a pergola standing at its real height, with any signage above it, is already there, and so is a display gate sitting on its track.
Fire performance is the other early question. Awning fabric, curtain textile and shading cloth are the dominant materials on this floor, and flame-retardant certification applies to stand textiles — a separate question from your product’s own specification. We raise it at design stage.
Bringing systems into Turkey
Complete systems, motors and display units you will take home again normally travel under an ATA carnet as temporary admission. Fabric offcuts, sample swatches, fixings consumed during installation and anything handed to a visitor are not covered and need a full export declaration. Confirm your categories with your freight forwarder in writing before shipping.
In-hall lifting and handling at İFM are ordered through the venue’s authorised contractor, with service requests submitted at least two weeks before move-in. A pergola frame or a roll-forming line needs that slot booked early.

Our band for a custom stand is 400 – 750 EUR per m², quoted as a fixed price in EUR against an approved design, so the figure you receive is the figure you pay. Island stands add 10–20%; double-decker structures add 40–60%, including the structural report and the longer installation. If the organiser requires a change after approval, we tell you what it costs before we make it.
Send your stand number, size, number of open sides and a list of the systems you are mounting with their dimensions and projections, and you get a 3D design and a fixed quotation.
