There are no locomotives in the hall at Eurasia Rail. Alstom’s 2025 stand showed brakes, switchgear and components you could inspect up close, with the high-speed trains on screen; Hitachi Rail brought signalling and telecoms; Arteche brought relays. This is a components, systems and procurement fair, and a stand built on the assumption that something enormous is arriving will be mostly empty space.
Eurasia Rail 2027 runs 24–26 March 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center (İFM), Yeşilköy — the 12th edition. This page is written for exhibitors looking for a Eurasia Rail stand builder: what this fair’s stands actually hold, meeting capacity for state buyers, the approval route, and prices.

Two things in that table change how a stand should be designed. First, 11,783 visitors against 213 exhibitors is a high ratio of people to stands — around fifty-five visitors per exhibitor over three days, which is dense traffic for a technical fair. Second, the fair is run with the Turkish state railway operator and the transport ministry behind it, so the people you most want to meet arrive as delegations rather than as individuals.
One correction worth making, because out-of-date stand-builder pages still get it wrong: Eurasia Rail is not at Tüyap. The 2021 edition was; the 2023, 2025 and 2027 editions are at Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy, on the other side of the city. Note also that the fair has moved slot — the last edition ran in June 2025 and the next is in March 2027, a twenty-one month gap rather than a clean two years.
Design for delegations, not for footfall
A hosted buyer at this fair arrives with four or five colleagues and a schedule. That single fact sets the layout:
| Stand size | What it supports |
|---|---|
| 12–16 m² | One standing conversation and a component display; a delegation of five will not fit |
| 20–30 m² | A seated table for five or six, plus a technical display wall |
| 36–50 m² | An enclosed meeting room for a delegation, an open table, and component displays |
| 60 m²+ | Two parallel delegation meetings, a demonstration area and storage for documentation |
Procurement conversations at a rail fair cover specifications, homologation and price in the same half hour. They are not held standing in an aisle within earshot of a competitor. From 20 m² we recommend a screened corner; from 36 m² an enclosed room with a door.
Keep the frontage for the technical display and put the enclosure at the rear. The venue requires visibility through stands, so an enclosure built across the open side costs you both the approval and the passing traffic.
Showing a component people will actually understand
- Cutaways beat complete units. A sectioned brake unit, bogie component or coupling shows the engineering; the complete assembly shows a painted box. Engineers at this fair want to see inside.
- Mount at working height. A component on the floor is a trip hazard and goes unexamined. On a plinth or a wall-mounted frame at chest height it gets handled.
- Label in English and Turkish. Visitors come from 71 countries, but the largest single buyer group is Turkish state railway staff. Dual labelling costs nothing and doubles the number of people who can read your display without help.
- Screens for what cannot travel. Rolling stock, depot systems and whole-network signalling are shown on screen because they cannot be shipped. Plan the screen into the structure rather than bolting a monitor onto a finished wall, and give it a surface a group can stand around.
- Check the weight anyway. Some rail components are dense for their size. The venue’s halls carry 2,250 kg/m², which is ample for almost anything on this floor, but a steel assembly on a small base can exceed the limit locally. Send us the weight and the bearing area.
Approval and the venue’s limits
If you have booked raw space, the design is reviewed before construction and you must declare which company is building your stand. Deadlines differ by fair — Automechanika Istanbul’s published terms require drawings two months ahead and state that unapproved designs cannot be built in the fairground. Request the Eurasia Rail exhibitor manual from the organiser as soon as your space is confirmed and plan backwards from its date.
Istanbul Expo Center’s own figures bind every stand in the building: height capped at 5.8 m in the halls, floor load 2,250 kg/m², and a structural check required for any stand 4 m or over and for all two-storey stands. A two-storey stand is a realistic option here — it buys an upstairs delegation room without giving up ground-floor display — and we prepare the static report as part of the technical file.
Bringing equipment into Turkey
Components and demonstration hardware you will take home again normally travel under an ATA carnet as temporary admission. Documentation you hand out, samples you give away and anything left behind are not covered and need a full export declaration. Confirm your categories with your freight forwarder in writing before shipping.
One logistics note for that week: the Istanbul Stationery and Office Fair is scheduled at the same venue on 24–27 March 2027, overlapping Eurasia Rail entirely, and the Istanbul Jewelry Show takes most of the halls the following week. Handling equipment, crews and loading slots at İFM will be contested. We book early and build a day of slack into installations in that window.
Prices
| Included in our price | Paid to the organiser |
|---|---|
| Design and 3D visuals, revised until approved | Floor space rental |
| Technical file, static report and submission | Electricity and water connections |
| Manufacturing in our own workshop | In-hall handling and empty-case storage |
| Pre-assembly before shipping | Compulsory service and catalogue fees |
| Transport, installation and dismantling | Static control fee, where one is charged |
| A technician on call during the fair |
Our band for a custom stand is 400 – 750 EUR per m², quoted as a fixed price in EUR against an approved design, so the figure you receive is the figure you pay. Island stands add 10–20%; double-decker structures add 40–60%, including the structural report and the longer installation. If the organiser requires a change after approval, we tell you what it costs before we make it.
Send your stand number, size, number of open sides, the number of simultaneous delegation meetings you need to hold and what you are displaying, and you get a 3D design and a fixed quotation.
Timeline for March 2027
| Stage | When |
|---|---|
| Meeting-capacity estimate, component list, screen content | November 2026 |
| 3D design and meeting-room layout | December 2026 |
| Static report if over 4 m or two-storey | January 2027 |
| Submission to the organiser | Per the manual’s deadline — request it early |
| Manufacturing, bilingual print, pre-assembly | January–February 2027 |
| Component shipping and customs | February 2027 — separate from the stand |
| Installation | Within the organiser’s setup window, booked early for a contested week |
We work to 10–12 weeks for a custom stand, and add time for a two-storey structure because of the static report and the longer installation.
Frequently asked questions
When is Eurasia Rail 2027?
24–26 March 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center (İFM), Yeşilköy, Istanbul — the 12th edition. The fair runs every two years, but note the slot has moved: the 2025 edition was in June. The 2025 edition drew 213 exhibitors from 17 countries and 11,783 visitors from 71 countries.
Is Eurasia Rail at Tüyap?
Not any more. The 2021 edition was at Tüyap in Büyükçekmece; since 2023 the fair has been at Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy, on the other side of the city. Several stand-builder sites still list the old venue.
Can I bring a bogie or heavy rail component into the hall?
Send us the weight and the bearing area and we will check it. The halls carry 2,250 kg/m², which covers almost anything shown at this fair, but a dense steel assembly on a small base can exceed the limit locally. Handling is booked through the venue’s contractor and should be ordered early.
How much meeting space do I need?
Count your hosted-buyer appointments and assume each delegation brings four or five people. A seated table for a delegation needs 20–30 m²; an enclosed room needs 36 m² upwards. Procurement conversations here are not held in an aisle.
Should my stand be in English or Turkish?
Both. International visitors come from 71 countries, but the largest single group of technical buyers is Turkish state railway staff. We produce bilingual labelling and specification sheets as part of the build.
Creostand is an exhibition stand builder in Istanbul: we design, manufacture in our own workshop in Esenyurt — about 35 minutes from Istanbul Expo Center — and install on site. For other fairs and dates, see our Istanbul exhibition calendar.
