Nearly half the exhibitors at ALUEXPO come from outside Turkey — 48% at the 2025 edition. That is an unusually high share for a Turkish industrial fair, and it tells you what the hall looks like: a dense floor of European, Gulf and Asian suppliers selling melting, casting and extrusion technology to a Turkish and regional manufacturing base. Your stand is judged against theirs, in the same aisle.
ALUEXPO 2027, the 10th edition, runs 23–25 September 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center (İFM), Yeşilköy, in Halls 1, 2, 4 and 8. This page is written for exhibitors looking for an ALUEXPO stand builder: heavy metal on a stand, the symposium audience, approval, customs, and prices.

One scheduling warning: do not work out ALUEXPO’s dates from the pattern. The fair is biennial but the month has moved — October in its early years, March in 2022 after the pandemic, September since. Take each edition’s dates from the organiser.
The symposium changes who walks your stand
ALUS, the International Aluminium Symposium, runs in the same building on the first two days, organised with the Turkish Aluminium Industrialists’ Association, TÜBİTAK’s Marmara Research Centre and the metallurgical engineers’ training centre. The practical effect is that a large part of your audience on days one and two is technical — process engineers, researchers and plant people moving between sessions and the halls.
That is a different visitor from a purchasing manager, and it rewards a different stand. Process data, a sectioned component, a real die or a sample series showing a surface problem solved earns a conversation here. A rendering of a factory does not.
Aluminium is light; the things that make it are not
The fair’s own exhibit profile covers melting, casting, heat treatment and heating technology, pressure, permanent-mould and continuous casting machinery, refractories, rolling and extrusion technology, casting and extrusion dies, metallography and test equipment, scrap processing and refining, and surface treatment and coating — alongside the product side: ingots, billets, sheet, profile, powder and finished architectural systems.
Both halves are heavy, and in different ways:
- Machinery concentrates mass on a small base. Istanbul Expo Center’s halls carry 2,250 kg/m², which is ample as an average and can be exceeded locally by a furnace or a press frame standing on four feet. Send the weight and the bearing area together.
- Billets and ingot are the quieter trap. A short stack of billet looks modest and weighs a great deal, and it is usually displayed on a plinth rather than spread across the floor. We design the base for the real figure, not the apparent one.
- Profile displayed vertically needs a restraint and a tip-over check, and visitors will handle it. A canted rack at working height shows the section better than a vertical wall and is safer.
- Dies and tooling are the single most persuasive object on an extrusion stand. Mount them at chest height where they can be picked up.
One honest limit: the fair publishes no machine weights, no power figures and no statement about whether equipment is run live on stands. Those come from your own exhibitor documentation. We will put the questions to the organiser with your equipment list if you want them settled before the design.
Approval and the venue’s limits
Raw space in Turkey means naming your constructor to the organiser and getting the drawings approved before anything is built. Deadlines vary — Automechanika Istanbul, which publishes its terms, requires drawings two months ahead and states that an unapproved design cannot be erected in the fairground. ALUEXPO’s own deadline arrives with your exhibitor documentation; request it the week your space is confirmed.
Istanbul Expo Center’s figures bind every stand in the building: height capped at 5.8 m, floor load 2,250 kg/m², and a structural check for any stand 4 m or over and for every two-storey stand. Water, drainage and compressed air are ordered through the venue’s authorised contractor with requests at least two weeks before move-in.
Bringing equipment and metal into Turkey
Machinery and display equipment you will take home again normally travel under an ATA carnet as temporary admission. Metal samples you leave with a customer, consumables and anything given away are not covered and need a full export declaration. Aluminium products can also attract trade-measure documentation depending on form and origin — confirm your categories with your freight forwarder in writing before shipping.
Prices
| Included in our price | Paid to the organiser |
|---|---|
| Design and 3D visuals, revised until approved | Floor space rental |
| Technical file, static report and submission | Electricity, water and compressed-air connections |
| Load-bearing plinths and display racks for metal | In-hall lifting and empty-case storage |
| Manufacturing in our own workshop and pre-assembly | Compulsory service and catalogue fees |
| Transport, installation and dismantling | Static control fee, where one is charged |
| A technician on call during the fair |
Our band for a custom stand is 400 – 750 EUR per m², quoted as a fixed price in EUR against an approved design. Island stands add 10–20%; double-decker structures add 40–60%, including the structural report and the longer installation.
Send your hall and stand number, size, number of open sides and the weight and bearing area of everything you are displaying, and you get a 3D design and a fixed quotation.

Frequently asked questions
When is ALUEXPO 2027?
23–25 September 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center (İFM), Yeşilköy, in Halls 1, 2, 4 and 8 — the 10th edition. The 2025 edition had more than 472 exhibitors from over 29 countries, nearly half of them foreign, and more than 15,367 visitors.
Can I display billet or a furnace on my stand?
Send the weight and the bearing area and we will check it against the hall’s 2,250 kg/m². Both billet stacks and machinery concentrate load on a small base, so the figure that matters is the bearing area, not the overall footprint. Lifting is booked through the venue’s contractor and should be ordered early.
Does the aluminium symposium affect my stand?
It affects who visits it. ALUS runs in the same building on 23 and 24 September, so a large share of your first two days is a technical audience moving between sessions and the halls. Process detail, sectioned parts and real tooling work harder on this floor than brand imagery.
How tall can my stand be?
Istanbul Expo Center caps stands at 5.8 m in the halls, and anything from 4 m up needs a structural check. We prepare the static report as part of the technical file.
Is ALUEXPO always in September?
No. It is biennial, but the month has moved between October, March and September across its history. Confirm each edition’s dates with the organiser rather than assuming the previous pattern holds.
